On 5 June, Citywire hosted its Private Markets Forum at the Mandarin Oriental in Zurich.
The event featured a discussion between Andreas Rothacher (Head of Investment Research at Complementa), Ioannis Galetsas (Head of Illiquid Assets at Zurich Insurance) and Rafael Vicario, CFA, CAIA (Head of Investment Advisory at Boreal Capital Management). The discussion was moderated by Pietro Cecere from Citywire.
Key topics of discussion included: The Draghi Report and Trump’s tariff policy and their impact on the attractiveness of European private market investments. The panellists saw particularly interesting investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector. In addition to uncertain geopolitical developments, the exchange rate of the US dollar against other currencies was highlighted as a potential risk factor. However, the panellists also pointed out that private market portfolios cannot be adjusted or realigned quickly and tend to require a step-by-step approach.
We thank for the lively discussion and the interesting conversations.
