As global markets react to the threat of US tariffs, many European pension funds are looking to rebalance their portfolios and reset their investment policies.

European pension funds are evaluating their investment policies after more than a decade in which market-cap-weighted global equity index approaches – and a high US equities exposure – have proved highly successful. However, this has left investment committees in a quandary: retaining strategic asset allocation policy at a time of unprecedented geopolitical turmoil may come to seem rash. But if action is to be taken, then what?
